This year was Little D's first time to go out trick-or-treating. He was home with us last year, but we didn't take him out to the neighbors. He couldn't walk yet and it was cold/rainy. This year was a little cool, but quite nice. We headed out right around 5 PM. Early? Yes, but since it was a Sunday and because he is little, we figured we could get away with it and go out before dinner.

Our firefighter and Appa are ready to head out to trick-or-treat. I was surprised...he left the hat on the WHOLE time. It's like he *knew* it was essential to the costume. BTW...his fire fighter's coat is actually a
rain slicker, so we can use it again...maybe in the Spring. We had to stick his hoody up inside the helmet because the fire fighter's hat was too big for him.

The first house we went to had this dude at the front door...along with with some other scary things. Little D stopped in his tracks a good distance from the door...and stared down this bearded creature. He didn't cry...he just stared. After we assured him it was OK, he blew the large-nosed critter some kisses...but wasn't going *any* closer.

This neighbor wasn't home. Little D helped himself. Of course he couldn't make up his mind...and wanted to take a few. We told him, "Only one," and he made his choice...and decided to taste it on the spot. In the wrapper.

Off to another house. "I'll just take the whole bag off your hands, lady. Thanks."

One neighbor came to her door with her camera when she spotted Little D. We're glad she did since we couldn't really get this view with our camera. Did I mention the light on his helmet flashed and made a siren sound when you pushed it? Yep.

With this face is it any surprise that he made out like a bandit despite going to only 6 houses? (I had not even noticed he was sporting one lock of hair on his forehead sticking straight down out of his helmet. Oops.) OK...confession: He didn't have any candy. None. What did we do with it? I'd say we ate a few pieces, but gave the rest away. He didn't even ask about it the next day. Sorry...maybe next year?!

"Hmmmm...let's see here. This one looks like it might be good." Can't go wrong with M&M's.

Family shot. Trick-or-treat! Those reflectors on D's coat *really* work, don't you agree?

"Dada, that's MY hat!"

Seriously the cutest firefighter ever and love that you had a beautiful day to enjoy your first true Halloween together.
Your firefighter is adorable! That's a great family shot too!! I had to laugh when I read he blew the large-nosed critter some kisses - he's sweet even when he's scared:)
So cute! I love the family shot.
He's so stinking cute!
I love all the photos, especially the family shot. I was thinking the same thing about the reflectors too - WOW. Good to know though, in case you wanted to send him out to play in the street alone after dark, no?!
And I totally raid Spencer's bag every night. Sad, but true.
Love your little firefighter! Love the family shot! And that large nosed bearded yoda looking gremlin thing....well that just plain scared me! What a brave boy you have to blow him kisses! :)
OK, he's seriously the CUTEST fire fighter ever. He looks so happy to be out there trick or treating! As you know, Max didn't eat any of the candy he collected either. He had no idea what it was, just kept putting it in his little pumpkin carrier :) I'm sure next year will be different for both our boys, right?
