Little D did quite well up front of the entire congregation watching. He did request "down" a few times, but it was pretty easy to distract him by looking at things around him. He cooperated with the actual baptism process very well and was intrigued by the water, of course. Another little guy (a 10-month-old baby) went first. Little D closely watched that baby and then turned to me and asked, "Dee-Dee?"...his way of asking, "Me too?" I told him yes and he looked pleased. He got a little squirmy at the very end...but gave himself a HUGE ROUND OF APPLAUSE with everyone else when we were finished. This drew some major laughs from everyone.
Little D wore the vest of his Hanbok. I decided against the entire Hanbok as sometimes he won't leave it on for very long. Plus he is squirmy enough as it is...and Hanboks are VERY silky. I was worried he'd wriggle right out of the pastor's arms...and end up IN the water...which he probably would have loved.
The Godparents join us: Uncle S, Uncle J, and Aunt L.
Pastor K, who baptised Little D.
After the service...checking out the tiny little chapel on the back of the church.
Opening presents with Appa.
Opening a book...very focused on getting off every tiny scrap of paper.
Trying out his new trike!
He has a very dramatic "parade" wave for situations like this.
I told him to "look up" so I could see his face (he had been looking down at his feet)...and this is what I got. Now that's REALLY looking up, D.
Thank you to our family for traveling here for Little D's special day. Thanks to my MIL for letting me use a few of her photos here -- I wasn't able to use my camera too much that day. Special thanks to my parents for helping me with the food. Couldn't have done it without you.

Congratulations!!! What a special day. And you're right - hanboks are soooo slippery! Good move :)
Congratulations! That's such a special day for your family. We did the same thing with the hanbok--Joel just wore the vest. It worked out perfectly! Love D's trike! Very fun gift.
What a beautiful day! How very blessed you were to be able to have both your families with you.
At the previous mention of family in town and Little D's baptism, I have been checking regularly to see if you have had time to post pictures yet. Yippee --- pictures! ----- love them all.
Congrats little D! What a special day for you all.
Great idea on the vest. You know we like to just wear the vest around here too :)
What a wonderful day! It was great all of your family could be together to celebrate that special day. Cool new bike D!

Congrats and the photo of the three of you...priceless!
Congrats to you all!!! We've been holding off on doing S's baptism since we would like to be settled into our "new" congregation for that... some days it feels like it is never going to happen! I'm filing away the vest idea though - brilliant!
Oh, and the "look up" shot is PRICELESS. I love it!
Congratulations on your baptism, Little D! You look really handsome in your hanbok vest and khakis - I actually really like that look :) Such a good idea! It's really great that your families could be there for the big day. And that trike is pretty darn AWESOME too!!
Congratulations litte D!
(thank you - I have been meaning to call the minister for quite a while and this is a great reminder.)
Congratulations Little D! How wonderful that your family was able to be a part of this special day.
Congratulations on your Baptism, Little D!! And I love that you gave yourself a round of applause!! Yay for you!! :)
Congratulations! Looks like a lovely celebration. How special that all of your family was able to be there. I love that you used the vest from his hanbok - what a nice way to incorporate part of that special attire without, as you said, risking potential problems with the whole outfit!
