Last Saturday we attended a Fire Muster. You see the definition of MUSTER above. It is a multi-day event in the town where my parents live. The best part? The Fire Truck Parade. When my mom mentioned this, I knew we couldn't miss it. We were there...front & center.

Waiting patiently for the parade to begin.
Little D insisted his big fire truck needed to watch the parade too.
But...of course.

"Hip-hip-HOORAY! They are finally coming, Dada!"

"See...here they come!"

I don't think he could believe how many fire trucks he was seeing.

There they go.

Big smiles...all around.

All kinds of fire trucks...some big...

...some high tech...look at the tires on that thing & the mega nozzle up top!...

...some old...ALL noisy!
I was a little concerned how Little D would react to all the loud sirens.
Would he be afraid? Would it be too loud?
I shouldn't have worried at all...he LOVED it.
He even did his own sound impressions throughout the parade.

I preferred the old-fashioned bells...
...but probably not quite as effective as the sirens today.

Later on, we went to check out some of the trucks...
...up close & personal.

"I wonder what this thing does?"

"Who me? I'm not touching anything."

"Hey...I can see myself in here."

"Ding-ding-ding!"
Yes, they tried out the bell.

Climbing up on top...doing some inspecting.

Old Glory.

Thumbs up from Little D.
He actually signed, "MORE!" when the parade was finished.
I guess nearly 100 fire trucks (no exaggeration) just wasn't enough.
I suspect this will be an annual event for us.
Anyone want to join us next year?

Spencer and I ogled (and I do mean ogled) these photos for quite some time today. I'm pretty sure he was insanely jealous. He says that he's in next year... I say that he has to start earning some money for the plane tix. ;-)

It looks like an incredible day... so much fun! (And great photos Janet!)

Um, you are DEFINITELY mommy and daddy of the year for that awesome outing! And the excitement is evident on Little D's cute face the entire time. I love that last photo of him with his daddy looking so happy! Wowza is all I can say. That is some SERIOUS fire truck mustering. One question though - what if someone's house was burning down and all the fire trucks were busy parading?
